Session theme: Safe People: How to Find Relationships that are Good for You and Avoid Those That Aren't

The discussion topics include but are not limited to:

  • How do I know if someone is emotionally safe enough for me to trust?
  • How do I find people who are going to build me up rather than tear me down?
  • How do I protect myself from people who take away my freedom and energy?

Each week, participants will view video content based upon the book "Safe People" by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend followed by discussion and opportunities to receive support for relationship challenges.​

Rebekah Callahan, MS, LMFT

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist providing counseling for individuals, couples, groups and families in the state of Washington. I have provided counseling to adults, and adolescents in outpatient, intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization settings. My experience includes working with clients facing relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, body image, grief, loss, codependency, loneliness and spiritual abuse. In addition, I have experience providing process oriented and skills based group therapy. I provide Christian faith based counseling if you would like to incorporate that element as part of your counseling.

My primary theoretical orientation is family systems, and I use Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples therapy. I also have training and experience with other theoretical orientations including: Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

1) What are your appointment days and hours?

Mondays: 10:00AM-7:30pm

Tuesdays: 3:00PM-7:00PM

Wednesdays: 10:00AM-7:30PM

2) What do you charge for counseling appointments?

Individual appointments: $130 for a 50 minute appointment. 

Couples/Family Therapy $150 for a 50 minute appointment

Payment is required at the beginning of each session. Payment options include: Cash, Check or Debit/Credit card.

3) Do you accept my insurance?

I currently accept Blue cross/Blue Shield (Premera Blue Cross, Regence Blue Shield) and Cigna. If you have an insurance plan not listed here, I can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for out of network benefits.

4) Can I use my health spending account for payment?

Many clients use their HSA to cover counseling fees. Please check with you insurance first to verify coverage.

Callahan Counseling Office

Callahan Counseling services is located off of Highway 9 and 32nd ST SE. When you enter the parking lot, head north until you see the sign on the left for "Building D." The entrance is labeled "Highway 9 Office Suites" and is next to the All State Insurance office. When you arrive for your appointment, take a seat in the lobby and Rebekah will be out to greet you at your appointment time.
